Q: What do I do if I lose my badge?

Notify your supervisor immediately. A new badge will need to be ordered, which should arrive in a few days. If you work in a larger institution, your RSO or Health Physicist may have spare badges. Your supervisor can estimate a dose for the lost badges and that amount can be added to your dose history to keep it current.

Q: Can I get account information online?

GDS gives you the flexibility to access your account whenever you want. Simply login with your personal password to add, delete or reassign badges, update account information.

Q: Is on-call service available in the case of an emergency?

Between the hours of 6 am to 5 pm PST, Monday through Friday, customer support representatives are ready to assist you in any situation. Our team of health physics experts are also available to answer questions or for consultation.

Q: How is dosimetry service provided?

The first shipment is immediately shipped to you for the quantities and types of badges requested for the appropriate wear period.

Have your employees begin wearing the badges on the date indicated on the badge label. At the end of the wear period simply return the used badges to GDS for processing and reporting.

All future shipments will occur automatically based on the predetermined frequency of exchange. You may make additions, deletions, and various other changes to your account at any time.

Q: What does dosimetry service include?

GDS will provide analysis of all collected dosimeters including regular issuance of dose results through easy-to-read reports. For added protection, all your badge data are stored in underground archival data retention vaults for easy retrieval should the need occur.

Q: How often can the dosimeters be exchanged?

You have the option of entering into any of the following monitoring device exchange programs:
  • Weekly
  • Bi-weekly
  • 1-month
  • 2-month
  • 3-month (quarterly)
  • 4-month
  • 6-month (semi-annual)
  • 12-month (annual)
  • Custom frequency (if applicable)

Depending on the size of your account, a dedicated sales representative might be assigned to handle all your needs. Larger accounts are eligible for:
